Unpacking The Present

Upon seeing the gift, Caroline was ecstatic. She had been eager about what was inside since she saw the very tape of the present that Steven had sent her. The gift, wrapped in colorful ribbons, looked inviting too!

The Reason For Picking The Spot

Caroline was sure about one thing, and she could not ask Steven. She had to find out for herself because she had already tried it, but it has not helped her since he didn't respond to her query. Perhaps Steven had picked this spot for a specific reason.

After driving for almost 20 minutes, she got closer to the neighborhood, but as she came closer and closer to the area, she found out that the surrounding kept changing, and the community kept getting shabby and rundown.

Why would Steven send her to a neighborhood like this? She had no clue, but then she was determined to find out. Also, her curiosity level was at its peak now, so she had to learn all about it. Most of the houses badly needed a coat of paint, and the roads were also the worse for wear.

House Was in Shambles

With a quick search on the internet, Caroline had already found out that the house she was looking for was in shambles, and when she finally reached the house, she found that her suspicion was correct.

The house didn't look as if a soul was living there. Yes, it was abandoned; everything around it looked like it was a sorry state of affairs. There was something very wrong with the entire scenario, she could not put her finger on it, but she meant to find out about it.

Opening The Door

She got out of her car and found that the door was locked, but she had a key wrapped in a packet, and as soon as she fit the key into the lock, the key moved, and she could unlock the door. Although Caroline did not know exactly what was happening, she trusted Steven's instincts.

At least Steven knew what he was doing, although she had no clue about what was happening. But Caroline was soon about to find out that her faith was misplaced.

The House Was in Pretty Bad Shape

When Caroline gingerly walked inside the old and abandoned house, her shoes made creaking sounds on the loose floorboards. The entire place was in a terrible state. Everything seemed to be destroyed. She even questioned her decision to come here, and she wondered what could be going in Steven's mind that he would make her visit something as abandoned as this house. She almost felt scared and alone and shivered in the cold, drafty building.

Caroline was utterly clueless about the current situation, so much so that she couldn't straight or think about her next set of actions. Should she go away or wait for Steven to answer her text. Steven was almost taking too long to respond. Sometimes, Steven seems like a stranger to her.

Caroline was hoping that Steven would buck up and answer instead of making her wait alone in a building that seemed to be abandoned and in this strange neighborhood. Suddenly, she heard some noise upstairs that scared her.

Just as she reached the top of the stairs, she heard a door slamming shut. When she went upstairs, she tried to find out which room the sound emanated from. But before she could do any investigation, she heard someone storming up the stairs. By that time, she was too scared.

There was not something remotely surprising and fun about the entire exercise. What could she do? Who was the person who almost scared her to death? Was he trying to kill her? Time almost stopped moving. What could she do now?

Caroline Gets a Scare

The man who almost tried to kill her seemed like someone living on the streets. Caroline could think that he must be looking to steal something. But how could he know that Caroline was there? Who told him? Did he just come in after noticing that the front door of the abandoned building was open?

The homeless man was now pointing a knife at her, and Caroline was beside herself with fear. She was shaking so much that she was sure that she could hear her teeth rattle. What did the man want?

Caroline Gets Robbed

Caroline's worst nightmare was realized; the man was robbing her. He quickly told her to give all her valuables to him, right from her phone to her money. Caroline saw no purpose in arguing with him, the man meant business, and she quickly parted with all her valuables.

Caroline waited for some time before being sure that the robber had gone and slowly retraced her steps. As soon as he got her valuables, the man hurried from the place, and Caroline stood there taking in huge gups of hair. It almost seemed like she could not breathe in the musty building.

Robber Steals Caroline's Car

The robber saw the key jangling in her car and decided to steal her car as well. It was a harrowing experience for her; not only was she robbed of all her valuables, but she did not have a phone to communicate with or a car to run from that place.

Caroline's legs were feeling wobbly, and she was hoping that she could steady herself before she called for help. The man was probably homeless and made the most of the situation before him.

Picking Up Her Son is a Priority Number One

Suddenly Caroline thought of Jonothan and how it was almost time to pick him up. First, Caroline sighed a relief that Jonothan was not with her. Otherwise, the little fellow's life would be in danger too. But first, she needed to make a phone call, and she did not have a phone.

Her priority was picking her son. She then would take him home and ask Steven what was happening there? Her last step would be to report the robber to the police.

A Lift On The Way

While Caroline was thinking about what she could do and how she could reach the kindergarten, when a stroke of luck hit her, she saw someone she knew offering her a ride.

Grateful For His Help

Caroline thought in her mind that the mystery continued! What was happening? she was stressed about it as nothing was happening to her plans. Everything happened to be a big surprise for her. She certainly did not like how things were unraveling before her.

Clandestine Rendezvous

As soon as the person opened the door, Caroline could recognize the person as one of Steven's friends. The friend started guiding her towards the bedroom, asking her what had taken her so long to reach.

As he opened the bedroom door, finally Caroline realized what the present was. Caroline was surprised and didn't know what to think. It didn't seem like a surprise to her and not like the one she was expecting. She was so weary with the day's happenings that all she could think was sit down and relax. Steven's friend explained that he was the owner of the abandoned house and was hoping to revamp it. It gelled with the plan as it was far from Steven's and Caroline's home. As soon as she knew all the details of what was happening, Caroline started to think it was a case of much ado about nothing.

It was certainly not worth all the effort; in fact, she wished they hadn't done what they had done; it would have saved her a lot of trouble. She suddenly felt disillusioned.

Off To The Police Station

Steven was too unthoughtful. He didn't think twice before hatching this hair-brained plan; he sent her to an unknown neighborhood; what if the man could have harmed her? She could have been killed, for all she knew! And all this as a result because Steven didn't think! It has been the case throughout her marital life. Steven never thought something through.

After calmer, she sent the friend home and asked Abraham to accompany her to the police station. Although she was;t feeling too hopeful about the proceedings, she still decided to go with it.

The Robber Got Caught!

Caroline got some good news when she reached the police station because the man who had attacked her had been caught. The man was speeding away in her car and went on to cross the speed limit. More good news followed as Caroline got back everything snatched away from her. Of course, she had to do some sort of paperwork.

The next thing on Caroline's agenda was to go to a lawyer's office, and she was very clear about her immediate goal. She has not experienced so much clarity in her entire life.

Divorce on Cards

Caroline was finally clear in her head; she had debated the decision for far too long. After just a day of getting the so-called gift from Steven, she filed for divorce from him. She knew they were not compatible, at least not as consistent as she had initially thought, so it was the right time to make the decision.

The photographer is in his elements, so is his subject, who is having a field day, digging away his nose in full glory. Well, the boy won't mind, well, at least now he won't, but we wonder what he will say after several years when digging your nose in public properties can have far-reaching connotations. We bet the bride must be saying something that is making her look so, well, emotional! Some photos can qualify as perfect photos, and then some photos are not-so-perfect photos. And then, there are pictures like this! We guess the bride has cold feet. Poor bride, don't worry, everything's going to be alright! Or did the groom step on her feet? Well, whatever it is, this picture is sure going to make her laugh every time she sees it!

We can say that for sure, going by the wife's angry look. We don't think the groom will be able to pacify the furious wife! If you are a pre-wedding photographer, you are certainly going to pay the price for this. Thanks to him that this gorgeous bridesmaid takes the cake here and that too. And she does that at the cost of overshadowing the bride herself. He must be praying that the bride doesn’t find this out. If she does, he wouldn’t have an option but to flee for his life. He certainly has messed this up. We have loads of sympathy for the guy.
