R.C. Sproul - $2 Million
R.C. Sproul was born Robert Charles Sproul on February 13, 1939. He is an ordained pastor for the Presbyterian Church in America and is known as an American theologian. He is also the founder of the Ligonier Ministries. One of his favorite stories was of his father who often quoted to him “Take no thought for tomorrow, what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink…,” and yet, Sproul tells that his father did have a mind for the future because his father bought life insurance, fire insurance, health insurance and had a savings account too.
Sproul suffered a stroke on April 18, 2015, and had to be confined. He was released five days later and went home. It was recorded that he suffered no ill effects from his stroke. However, while he was in the hospital, he was diagnosed with a diabetic condition. On December 2, 2017, he was hospitalized again because of respiratory difficulties that were made worse by his flu. Doctors did their best to normalize his respiratory state knowing that he suffered chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He died on December 14, 2017.
Joel Osteen - $100 Million
Aside from being a preacher, a televangelist, and an author; Joel Osteen can be termed as a controversial figure. He once made waves by not accepting his annual salary (amounting to $200,000) as a pastor in Lakewood Church. Instead, he depended on his book royalties to support himself and his family. Even though he had done so, he still lives quite comfortably in the luxurious dwelling, estimated to be valued at over $10 million. Furthermore, he is considered to be at least $100 million in net worth.
It is this lifestyle that has had people question his financial stand (since many religious figures like him had often indulged in a simple lifestyle). Other accusations that were thrown his way included his refusal to open up the Lakewood Church to help accommodate the hurricane victims in his area during the year 2017. His lawyers sure did have a tough time coping with the challenges that came along with his finances.
Joyce Meyer - $8 Million
It is surely impossible if you do not know this Christian and inspirational author, Joyce Meyer. With almost a hundred different inspirational books published to her name, she is said to be one of the best self-help authors of all time. A victim of abuse of herself, Joyce grow up in difficulty having to battle insecurities, negative thinking and being suspicious of everyone around her. But despite it all, she remained strong and became steadfast. She completed her education at O’Fallon Technical High School. After graduation, she married a part-time salesman but eventually got a divorce after 5 years.
In 1976, she said that she received a message from God and this eventually changed her life and started her ministry which is now the Joyce Meyer Ministries. She became an inspiration to many as she teaches, prays and provides counseling for millions of people. Her practical and different approach in the bible became ground-breaking which made her rise to popularity.
Charles Stanley - $1.5 Million
Charles Stanley was born Charles Frazier Stanley on September 25, 1932. He joined the First Baptist Church of Atlanta, Georgia as a staff in 1969 and quickly became a pastor in 1971. He credits the book “Think and Grow Rich” where he found the principles that he needed to become successful in his field. He is quoted as saying “I began to apply the principles of that book to my endeavors as a pastor, and I discovered they worked!”
Stanley’s divorce in 2000 became controversial in part because of his initial declaration that he will resign as a pastor if he ever becomes divorced. He and his wife were living separately already at the time when he made that statement, but he never believed that their separation will ever lead to a full divorce.
Sri Chinmoy - $2 Million
Sri Chinmoy was born Chinmoy Kumar Ghose on August 27, 1931. He was a popular spiritual leader from India who taught meditation. He eventually moved to New York and established his first center for meditation in Queens, New York. One of the most important parts of Chinmoy’s teaching is respect for other religions and spiritual paths. He was known to spread his teachings through the most unconventional means. In addition to spiritualism, Chinmoy is also an advocate of athleticism.
He is known to do weightlifting, running, swimming, cycling and tennis. Chinmoy started weightlifting when he was at the age of 54. His favorite sport is tennis. Unfortunately, a knee injury forced his retirement from the sport. Chinmoy died at 76 years of age. He suffered a fatal heart attack in his retirement home in Jamaica, Queens.
Al Sharpton - $500,000
Al Sharpton was born Alfred Charles Sharpton Jr. on October 3, 1954. He is popularly known as a reverend, a politician, and a civil rights activist, especially of African Americans. He was first ordained as a Pentecostal minister when he was just ten years old by Bishop F.D. Washington. After Bishop Washington’s death, Al Sharpton joined the Baptist church in the mid-90s and became a minister. Al Sharpton survived an assassination attempt on January 12, 1991. Michael Riccardi attacked Sharpton and stabbed him in the chest.
Riccardi was easily apprehended by Sharpton’s aides due to intoxication and was then turned over to the police. Sometime during Riccardi’s trial, Sharpton pleaded the judge to be lenient when sentencing Riccardi. It is unknown if Sharpton first consulted with personal injury lawyers before deciding to plead for leniency on behalf of Riccardi. Although Sharpton pleaded leniency for Riccardi, he did sue New York City for the failed assassination. Numerous policemen were present on the site of the assassination and yet they failed to prevent the assassination. They were there in anticipation of the protest that was planned for that day. New York City settled with Sharpton for $200,000.
Mark Driscoll - $2.5 Million
Mark Driscoll was born on October 11, 1970, and is known as an evangelical pastor and author. He is the founder of Mars Hill Church. He is also a Senior Pastor and a Founding Pastor of The Trinity Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. Mars Hill Church was founded in 1996 in Seattle, Washington. It had 14,000 members as of 2014. Driscoll also founded The Resurgence - a theological cooperative. He also co-founded several other parachurch organizations across the USA such as Churches Helping Churches, Acts 29 Network and The Gospel Coalition.
He received multiple public criticisms and formal complaints from Mars Hill members of staff and church members because of his abusive behavior in the summer of 2014. These church members and members of the church staff demanded his resignation and some even called for his retirement. He resigned from Mars Hill Church on October 14, 2014, and not more than three months after he resigned, Mars Church was dissolved.
N.T. Wright - $4 Million
Born Nicolas Thomas Wright on December 1, 1948, in Morpeth, Northumberland he is known as N. T. Wright or as Tom Wright. Aside from being an Anglican bishop, a New Testament scholar, and a theologian, Wright is also known for his written works. He writes about Christian life, theology and the relationship between the two.
He is also an outspoken advocate of women’s ordination although he is also a staunch opposition against same-sex marriage. In 2008, when he was still a Bishop of Durham, he wrote an essay called “On Dropping the Debt” where he talks about the advantages and the disadvantages of the debt relief and the idea of complete debt dropping and how it impacts development financing and other debt-relief programs in Europe at the time.
Jack Van Impe - $2.5 Million
Jack Van Impe was born Jack Leo Van Impe on February 9, 1931. He is an American televangelist made popular by his thirty-minute weekly series “Jack Impe Presents.” This show aims to present an eschatological view of the popular news of the week. This program is aired globally through broadcasters focused on religion as well as paid programming. Impe has been plagued by multiple health issues throughout the years.
He has undergone total knee replacement for both his left and right knees in 2006. He has suffered from cancer and a severe sepsis attack. Impe has also suffered blood loss from severe ulcers. He has also gone through a triple bypass heart surgery. At one time, it was announced on his program that Impe broke his hip. Louis Farrakhan or Luis Farrakhan Sr. was born Louis Eugene Walcott in The Bronx. He was also known briefly as Louis X. He started with a professional career in music and singing. During this time, he was known as The Charmer and was earning $500 per week. He earned the nickname “Calypso Gene” while touring the Midwest and the northeastern United States. While on tour in 1955, he met Rodney Smith who introduced him to the Nation of Islam.
He and his wife were soon after invited to the annual Savior’s Day address of Elijah Muhammad. Before going to the Savior’s Day celebration, he initially thought that the leader of the Nation of Islam was Malcolm X. Farrakhan is known to have health issues since 2006 and these health issues have consistently impacted his ability to serve the Nation of Islam. He stated that he will limit his duties within the Nation of Islam because of his health issues but he has not announced any retirement plans.

Clifton Davis or Clifton Duncan Davis started with a career in music, cinema, and Broadway musicals. He was born on October 4, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois. He is also a known author and a minister for the Baptist church. Davis went to Oakwood University for a BA in Theology. He also went to Andrews University where he gained his Master of Divinity degree. For two years until 1989, he served as an Associate Pastor of Loma Linda University SDA Church.
He is the co-founder and a co-pastor of the Welcome Christian Center in California. He is also a licensed minister of Saint Luke Baptist Church in New York. He has 58 acting credits, 41 soundtrack credits, 1 producer credit and 78 video credits for documentary or TV specials. In the movie The Engagement, he plays a reverend that provided brief counseling for the soon to be a married couple in the movie.
Tony Campolo - $4 Million
Anthony “Tony” Campolo was born on February 25, 1935. He has been credited as a very influential leader of the evangelical leftist. He is also known as a major proponent of reform and progressive thought within the community of evangelicals. The Red Letter Christian movement - a group that aims to focus on the teachings of Jesus - also lists him as one of their leaders.
Possibly unknown to most, he served as a presidential advisor and provided religious and spiritual counseling to then U.S. President Bill Clinton. Campolo announced in 2014 that he planned to completely retire from EAPE (Evangelical Association for the Promotion of Education) and then eventually close that ministry. He founded this ministry to help the youth in both the United States and Canada. This ministry has helped establish schools and colleges in both the United States and Canada.
Reinhard Bonnke - $4 Million
This evangelist will not consider retirement shortly. With almost a million followers in his Christ for All Nations organization, Reinhard Bonnke has a lot of things to still achieve and a mission to continue. Popular for his gospel crusades all over Africa, Reinhard wants the world to know that he has a “Vision for Africa and has a Burning Passion” for the Gospel of God. Reinhard started small. At first, he held meetings with around 800 people in a small tent which later on grew dramatically.
More people attended his meetings that reached almost a million in numbers. Today, it has been almost 45 years since he established his Christ for All Nations Ministry. The ministry of Keneth Copeland Ministries preaches abundance and prosperity which is more referred to as prosperity gospel by its leader Keneth Copeland.
